The investment proposition

A platform-level route into renewable electricity markets.

The Lunas Renewable Markets Platform is designed to bring multiple operating solar plants together through long-term electricity purchase agreements and associated battery infrastructure. Investors participate through one platform rather than acquiring each underlying solar farm separately.

01

One investment structure

A central platform coordinates a portfolio of long-term contractual relationships and associated infrastructure across multiple operating solar assets.

02

No need to build the entire business

Lunas brings together project origination, contract negotiation, storage deployment and electricity market optimisation, reducing the need for investors to establish every capability in-house.

03

Long-term contractual relationships

Agreements typically span 20–25 years, subject to negotiation and definitive documentation, creating a framework for building a portfolio over time.

04

Active electricity market participation

Battery storage can provide flexibility over when contracted electricity is sold and may support day-ahead, intraday and ancillary-service opportunities where commercially viable.

05

Portfolio-based capital deployment

Investors can assess the platform, its management, contractual framework and portfolio development strategy while conducting appropriate diligence on underlying projects and agreements.

06

Existing solar assets

The model partners with operating solar plant owners, who retain ownership and operation of their solar farms.

How the platform works

Originate. Contract. Integrate storage. Optimise power.

1

Originate

Identify operating Spanish solar plants and assess their commercial and technical suitability.

2

Contract

Negotiate long-term electricity purchase agreements with plant owners.

3

Integrate storage

Coordinate battery deployment through dedicated project companies and specialist partners.

4

Trade and optimise

Manage contracted electricity and storage across wholesale market opportunities.

Portfolio and market context

Built for the changing economics of Spanish solar.

Solar revenues can be affected by low or volatile wholesale prices, including periods of very low or negative prices. Long-term contracts, battery storage and active market optimisation are intended to support a more flexible commercial approach. Outcomes are not guaranteed and depend on contract terms, market prices, operating costs, financing and execution.

Pipeline under evaluation

A growing set of potential operating-plant partnerships.

Lunas is evaluating opportunities involving more than 55 operating solar plants representing over 900 MW of photovoltaic capacity, with a potential associated battery storage programme of approximately 3.4 GWh. Opportunities are at different stages and remain subject to definitive agreements.

Figures represent a pipeline under evaluation, not secured or operational capacity.

For renewable energy investors

One platform. Multiple assets. Coordinated capabilities.

The platform may be relevant to institutional investors, infrastructure funds and private investment groups seeking exposure to contracted renewable electricity and associated storage in Spain. Investment structure, risk allocation and eligibility would need to be assessed against each investor’s mandate.
